Cleaning your tripe at home is the best thing you can do for your health and peace of mind. Cleaning of tripe can be very challenging to some people because it could be tedious and the smell could be unbearable, but if you love tripe, it is very important to know how to clean tripe. When you clean your cow's tripe, you are in control of what you use and how you clean it.

• Rinse the cow's tripe multiple times to get rid of sand and any stomach content.
• Peel away any fat that is attached to the tripe.
• Heat up a large pot of water and bring it to a boil.
• Once the water comes to a boil, dip the tripe into the hot boiling water for 1 - 2 minutes then take it out and spread on a work surface (preferably on a board over a sink so that the water would drip into the sink). 
• Then with the sharp or blunt side of the knife, scrape off the thin layer of the tripe. You can also use an iron sponge or stainless steel scrubber to scrape it off.
• After a while dip the tripe back into the hot water and continue to scrape it off.
• Once you are done with the hot water,you can further deep clean it (optional) by massaging some baking soda into the tripe, pour in some vinegar. The chemical reaction will help to further clean the tripe. Add some water and let it soak. While it is soaking, you can continue to scrape off any difficult part.
• Once done, rinse the tripe and cut to desired size.
